The 11.6- and 13-inch Chrome OS-powered notebooks from Asus could be officially announced next month at the release of the Chromebox mini-PC.

2014 will probably be a good year for Chromebooks but this segment of the market will also get pretty crowded since more and more manufacturers announce their intentions to launch their first Chrome OS-powered portables or the addition of new models to their existing lineup. Asus did not release any Chromebook yet, but it seems two models will hit the market later this year.

According to a report published by VR-Zone, the two Chromebooks by Asus that are expected to be released in 2014 are called C200 and C300. As their names suggest, the C200 is a smaller model and will feature an 11.6-inch display, while the Asus C300 Chromebook will possibly sport a 13-inch display.

Unfortunately these are the only specs mentioned at this time, so we must wait for more info on the upcoming Asus Chromebooks to come out.

The Asus Chromebox will arrive in March and the versions for the US market of this tiny desktop PC will start at $179 and use an Intel Celeron 2955U or Intel Core i3-4010U Haswell processor. It is possible for the C200 and C300 to come out together with the Chromebox or they could be at least announced during the launch event next month.
