Apple store down ahead of today's event

As is customary before any Apple event, the Apple Store is temporarily out of order and is sporting the usual "We'll be back" signage. The much awaited event is scheduled to commence at 1PM EST in San Jose and all indications are that there'll be a couple goodies unveiled today.

First on the table should be the iPad Mini, which will likely come in at around 7" and directly compete with Google's Nexus 7 and Amazon's Kindle Fire. Rumors of the smaller iPad have been swirling for quite a bit now and it almost certainly will be revealed in a few hours.

On the other hand, it was only this month that rumors began about a possible MacBook unveil, and they've only intensified recently. As it stands, we're expecting a 13" Macbook Pro with a Retina display and maybe even more, but there's not much use in speculating with the event less than an hour away.
