Apple speeds up the production of Vision Pro, aims for a Feb launch
Vision Pro, which is Apple’s upcoming mixed-reality headset, might be launched as early as February next year. Back in June, when Apple unveiled Vision Pro, it mentioned that the new gadget would be released in early 2024.
As per a recent report by Bloomberg, the Vision Pro production has been “running at full speed” so Apple can meet the goal of launching the gadget early next year. Mark Gurman’s report further stated that the company is aiming for the units to be ready by the end of January, and the headset will have its retail debut next month. However, it also points out that this launch can pushed forward if there are any “last-minute production hiccups” or other issues.
With the new $3,499 hardware, Apple will also be introducing visionOS, which is a new software developed by the company. The software will receive updates along with iOS and macOS, and will likely receive one shortly after the launch. Developers are already being encouraged to design apps for the new gadget.
At the moment, the report informs that Apple is preparing for an in-store demonstration at a few retail stores. Employees will be trained on how to guide potential buyers and make sure that the headset fits. These employees will also need to ensure that the headband, Light Seal, and prescription lenses are fitted together properly. After the Vision Pro is rolled out, it will have limited availability in the US, at least at the beginning.
