The Gigabyte AORUS MASTER 16 GEN 2 is an absolute beast. The question is not whether it’s any good, but whether it’s the right fit for your needs and whether you can justify that hefty $6,599 price tag. If you can’t afford to compromise on portable performance for work and/or play and your budget will stretch, the AM6J certainly won’t disappoint.

AMD's Ryzen 9 9955HX3D just raised the bar for gaming laptops — and it did it while running 20°C cooler than Intel's flagship. I spent the last couple of weeks testing the 2026 Gigabyte Aorus Master 16 with the RTX 5090, and this is everything you need to know: thermals, benchmarks, gaming performance, the much brighter new display, and the one spec that actually got worse this year.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop: The GeForce RTX 5090 Mobile uses the GB203 chip and utilizes 10,496 shaders / CUDA cores of the maximum 10,752 that the chip has. This makes the RTX 5090 Laptop more similar to the RTX 5080 desktop variant (same chip) than the Desktop RTX 5090 with 20,760 cores and higher clock rates.
These graphics cards are able to play the latest and most demanding games in high resolutions and full detail settings with enabled Anti-Aliasing.
