Android 10 has started rolling out to Moto G7 Power handsets in Brazil. Motorola later confirmed the update schedule, saying that the update would come to Brazil first before arriving in other regions. The company also confirmed that it is working on updating the Moto G7 Play to Android 10, though it did not give a concrete date for the update.

In an unexpected move, Motorola is pushing Android 10 to some Moto G7 Power handsets in Brazil. The update hit a handful of phones before Motorola had even announced its release.

The Moto G7 and G7 Plus, which were both released alongside the G7 Power, have also received updates to Android 10. That update was pushed last month. While the update for the G7 Power will roll out in phases, users in Brazil have posted screenshots showing Android 10 on sites like Reddit.

Motorola later confirmed that the G7 Power update had indeed launched. The company said Android 10 would make its way to G7 Power handsets in other regions over the coming weeks. Motorola also stated that the Moto G7 Play would get Android 10, though that update is still under development. There is no confirmed timeline for the G7 Play update as of press time.

The update is a welcome, if belated, one. Motorola doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to supporting its entry-level and mid-range phones, but the jump to Android 10 will extend the life of one of the most popular smartphone lines in the world.
