Affordable $89 50 mm f/1.8 full-frame lens launches in two new colors

The TTArtisan 50 mm f/1.8 Neo was originally announced back in July, and TTArtisan is now offering the lens in two new colors. In addition to the original black version, green and titanium variants are now available. The lens hood and lens cap are also supplied in the matching color.
Regardless of the chosen color, the lens is made of a fiberglass composite material, which contributes to its low weight of just 156 grams. Perhaps the most unusual design feature of the TTArtisan 50 mm f/1.8 Neo is that the lens has no focus ring at all. As a result, focusing is only possible via autofocus. This is likely a cost-cutting measure. The minimum focusing distance is 0.48 meters. A filter thread allows the use of standard 52 mm filters.
There is a USB-C port on one side of the lens that can be used to install firmware updates. Buyers should note that compatibility with some cameras is limited – full compatibility is currently not guaranteed with some older cameras such as the Leica SL or the Sony A7s, and autofocus in video mode does not work correctly even on newer Leica SL cameras or on the Sigma fp and Lumix S1 series.
