According to an Engadget report, the Taiwan-headquartered PC manufacturer Acer will soon start selling a new laptop, dubbed TravelMate 8481. The high-performance notebook is reportedly targeted towards business professionals on-the-go.
A second generation Sandy Bridge Intel Core i7 central processing unit and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M graphics controller will be powering the new TravelMate offering. One of the more exciting things about this laptop is that it is equipped with a super thin LG Shuriken 14.1-inch LED-backlit LCD widescreen display that has an HD resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels.
The portable PC will reportedly offer a storage capacity of up to 320GB thanks to the built-in mechanical HDD with Acer’s Disk Anti-Shock Protection technology for more durability. In addition, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0+HS modules will help you stay connected.
Customers can also take advantage of the TravelMate 8481 HDMI interface, USB 3.0 port with power-off USB charging and Acer’s Bio-Protection fingerprint reader for enhanced security. For your video conferencing needs, there is a 1.3 MP web camera integrated into the quite thin bezel.
Further features reportedly include a Windows 7 Home Premium OS, Acer’s PureZone technology with two built-in microphones and up to 13 hours of battery life.
