The Taiwanese manufacturer is starting IFA 2016 with a bang and a string of announcements that really shouldn't be missed. However, look through the all the new headline-grabbing devices and there are some down-to-Earth announcements related to Acer's budget smartphones. The manufacturer will be updating its Liquid series to the Liquid Z6 and Z6 Plus with 2.5D displays, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and improved cameras.
Core specifications for the Liquid Z6 include:

- Quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC
- 1 GB RAM
- 8 GB eMMC
- 8 MP rear + 2 MP front cameras
- 145.5 x 72.5 x 8.5 mm
- 126 g
Meanwhile, the larger and higher-end Liquid Z6 Plus features:
- 5.5-inch FHD IPS display
- Octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC
- 3 GB RAM
- 32 GB eMMC
- 13 MP rear + 5 MP front cameras
- 153.6 x 75.4 x 8.5 mm
- 4080 mAh battery
- 168 g
Other differences between the Liquid Z6 and the Z6 Plus include a brushed metal chassis and fingerprint reader on the latter model.
