On features, the Acer Iconia One 8 beats the Lenovo and Samsung tablets by offering 16GB of storage, which you really need on an Android tablet. The Amazon Fire HD 8 is better for multimedia enjoyment and playback thanks to its screen coating and far better speakers, but if you want the rich array of third-party apps available in Google's store, the Iconia 8 gets you there. Our Editors' Choice for budget tablets, meanwhile, remains the Amazon Fire. The 7-inch Fire delivers most of the performance you get from these $99 tablets for half the price, it's just a bit smaller.

ARM Mali-T720 MP2: Integrated graphics card in ARM based SoCs. Can be configured with up to 8 cores (T720 MP8) and 650 MHz core clock (at 28nm). Supports OpenGL ES 3.1, OpenCL 1.1, DirectX 11 FL9_3, and Renderscript.

These graphics cards are not suited for Windows 3D games. Office and Internet surfing however is possible.

This display size is a threshold between tablets and smartphones. Most tablets have larger screen diagonals but a lot of smartphones offer such a big screen.

Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.

Acer: The company was founded under the name of Multitech in Taiwan in 1976 and renamed to Acer or Acer Group in 1987. The product range includes, for example, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors and televisions. Gateway Inc. and Packard Bell also belong to the Group and sell their own laptops.

While Acer still had the third largest global market share in the notebook segment in 2008, it ranked 6th in 2016 with a market share of 6% after they had continuously lost market shares.
