70% Acer Aspire R13 review
Source: Trusted Reviews English
Acer has taken a punt on a new design for this hybrid, but the rotating screen is a mixed bag: its extra positions don’t add much to the experience and, while this machine is thinner and lighter than rivals, it’s wider and has iffy aesthetics. It’s inconsistent elsewhere too with reasonable core specs, battery life and a good screen, but a poor keyboard. It’s got issues, but it’s the best mid-range hybrid available at the moment.

Acer Aspire R13 (2015, Broadwell) review – it’s the Aspire S7, but with a super-cool hinge
Source: Laptop Media English
Despite the fact that the Aspire R13 isn’t listed as the most premium convertible, we can easily say that the notebook strikes us as one. Yes, Acer has kept low cost materials for the most of chassis, but they still leave the impression of an expensive piece of electronics. The only full metal is used for the frame around the screen making it more durable, while the interior has a metallic finish and strongly resembles an anodized aluminum. The bottom is also plastic and just like the one we found in the Aspire V15 Nitro series notebooks, it feels really smooth and helps for a firmer grip in tablet mode. Speaking of which, you may find the device’s sides a bit protruding when using the tablet mode and maybe way too big for the screen size presented in the device. The keyboard and the touchpad are maybe the only drawback in the overall design and we were left with the impression of inconsistent performance due to the wobbling effect when using the mouse keys and the short travel of the keys.

80% Acer Aspire R 13
Source: Computer Shopper English
If you're sold on the idea of a convertible for the versatility, or just thinking about one, the Acer Aspire R 13 should be on your short list. With six operating modes, you're sure to find a few different ways to use it, and the impressive battery life lets this portable be portable most of the time. The only thing holding it back is the keyboard.

84% Acer Aspire R13 R7-372T-746N Convertible Review | Notebookcheck
Well-balanced. Thanks to a quad-hinge design, which allows the display to swivel into several different positions, the Aspire R13 supports a variety of usage modes. The hardware is noteworthy as well: Core i7 CPU, WQHD display, and Thunderbolt 3 port.

Acer: The company was founded under the name of Multitech in Taiwan in 1976 and renamed to Acer or Acer Group in 1987. The product range includes, for example, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors and televisions. Gateway Inc. and Packard Bell also belong to the Group and sell their own laptops.

While Acer still had the third largest global market share in the notebook segment in 2008, it ranked 6th in 2016 with a market share of 6% after they had continuously lost market shares.

There are dozens of Acer laptop reviews per month, the ratings are average (as of 2016). Gateway, which has an own laptop line-up, has also belonged to the Acer Group since 2007.

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Intel HD Graphics 4400:

ULV integrated GPU (GT2) with 20 EUs found on certain Haswell CPU models.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Intel HD Graphics 520: Integrated GPU (GT2) with 24 EUs found on some Skylake CPU models (15 W ULV series).

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

Intel Core i5:

4210U: Haswell-based ULV dual-core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 2.7 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4400 and a dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.

6500U: Skylake-based ULV dual-core processor for thin notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 520 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

1.5 kg:

This weight is typical for big tablets, small subnotebooks, ultrabooks and convertibles with a 10-11 inch display-diagonal.

1.8 kg:

This weight is typical for very big tablets, subnotebooks, ultrabooks and convertibles with a 11-13 inch display-diagonal.

79.6%: This rating is not convincing. The laptop is evaluated below average, this is not really a recommendation for purchase.
