Acer Aspire 7 A717-71G-72VY
The Acer Aspire 7 A717-71G-72VY is an all-around talent and can be used for both gaming and demanding work. It is an attractive notebook that convinces with a thought-out design. For good computing power, an Intel Core i7 HQ processor of the seventh generation and a Nvidia graphics card are provided. A 17.3-inch display with Full-HD resolution provides a large workspace and a clean display of image contents. With its subtle, yet modern design, the Aspire 7 makes a good figure everywhere. It features a finely brushed pattern that offers an outstanding feel and emphasizes the noble aluminum case. The Acer notebook offers a particularly large working surface with its 17.3-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. A battery life of up to 6 hours allows continuous operation without external power supply. The Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor with four cores and a clock speed of up to 3.8 GHz system works in conjunction with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM. The system delivers high computing power and allows multitasking with demanding applications. Graphics-intensive applications such as video editing or image processing can speed up with a powerful Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060. Even current games are playable with high graphics settings. Storage for programs, documents and multimedia files are handled by a 1000 GB large hard drive. The memory and mass storage can be further upgraded easily with its removable service flap. Users can experience true-to-life and bright colors on the laptop with a now rare 39.6 cm Full HD (17.1”) display with 1080p resolution. The display also features the use of AcerColor Intelligence to dynamically adjust gamma and real-time saturation to optimize color balance and brightness of the screen without clipping and oversaturation. The matte display on the laptop gives users less stress on dealing with fingerprints, but the display is less contrast and vibrant compared to a glossy display. As for operating system, Windows 10 Home 64 bit comes pre-installed in the laptop. An HD webcam and dual microphone system are available for video chats. This allows users to enjoy video calls from family and friends in high quality. The dual microphone system integrates technology for reducing background noise so that users can enjoy even clearer conversations with family and friends. With Gigabit Ethernet or WLAN-ac, the 17.3-inch notebook reaches a local network quickly and reliably on the Internet. For the connection of peripheral devices and the data transfer from external hard drives, the Acer Aspire 7 has four USB ports, including a USB 3.1 port of the first generation. TV, monitor or beamer can be connected via HDMI. Memory cards read and write on an SD card reader. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

Budget gaming par excellence. Acer's latest 17-inch multimedia-gaming hybrid from the new Aspire 7 series comes equipped with a powerful GTX 1060, a fast quad-core, and an IPS display but is consequently optimized with regards to costs in all other aspects. From a technical point of view, the new notebook is very decent and Acer's cost cutting measures were made wisely... with one exception, though.

To be fair, it’s really hard not to recommend this high-performance budget laptop. It’s good for everyday work, for multimedia and even for gaming while costing just around €750 (since at the time of writing this review, the Aspire 7 is still not available in the US). But if all that power isn’t all that necessary, we recommend looking into the Aspire 5 as well as it offers just about the same user experience but with more balanced hardware capable of squeezing out better battery runtimes.

The product range includes, for example, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors, TVs and computer peripherals. Since 2007, the group has merged with Gateway Inc. and Packard Bell, which also market their own laptop product lines.
Acer computers are designed for a variety of purposes, including ultrabooks for mobile use, gaming laptops for gamers, affordable options for everyday tasks, and 2-in-1 convertible laptops for versatility. Acer's product portfolio also includes tablets that offer portable computing and multimedia capabilities.
With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile: The mobile GTX 1060 is based on the GP106 chip and offer 1280 shaders. Compared to the identically named desktop version it features a slightly lower clock rate. Games in Full HD and maximum details should run fluently on the card.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
