Geekom is further expanding its already extensive lineup of compact computers with another system called the AE8 Max. The usual MSRP is $589.
The AE8 MAX is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 8745HS, which should be fast enough even for more demanding use cases and applications. It sports 32GB DDR5 memory that is clocked at 5600MHz and can be upgraded to 64GB later on. Meanwhile, the internal 1TB M.2-2280 NVMe SSD can be replaced as well, but alternatively there’s a secondary M.2-2242 slot that can fit a SATA SSD. Additionally, the mini PC can accommodate a 2.5-inch drive with a height of up to 7mm.
The space-saving desktop computer also offers two Ethernet ports with up to 2.5 GBit/s, while WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 can be used in terms of wireless connectivity. Moreover, there are two USB 4 ports as well as USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port and HDMI. According to the manufacturer, the Geekom AE8 Max mini PC can be hooked up to four 4K monitors simultaneously.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
