The Xiaomi Magnetic Ultra-thin Power Bank 5000 7.5W has been released in China. This accessory is marketed as portable and suited to air travel. The company indicates that the new model is just 8.7 mm (~0.3 inches) thick, making it 27.5% thinner than the 2024 Xiaomi Magnetic Power Bank 5000mAh 7.5W.
Xiaomi’s Magnetic Ultra-thin Power Bank offers up to 15W wireless charging, with a compatible phone held in place with 10N magnetic force. The USB-C port delivers an up to 22.5W output, and there is support for various fast charging protocols like PD 3.0 (PPS), QC 3.0 and AFC. The 5,000mAh lithium cobalt oxide battery is recharged via USB-C, and, according to Xiaomi, it will retain at least 80% of its capacity after 300 charges.
Built-in indicator lights show the remaining battery level, and dual NTC sensors check the temperature 12,000 times a minute to protect against overheating. Though its weight is unknown, the product page states that the power bank measures 102 x 69.6 mm (~4.0 x 2.7 inches) and is available with four colored metallic finishes: black, blue, gold and purple.
In China, the Xiaomi Magnetic Ultra-thin Power Bank 5000 7.5W retails for CNY 199 (~$28). It remains to be seen whether the company will release this accessory in other markets at a later date. The older Xiaomi Magnetic Power Bank 5000mAh 7.5W is available in European countries like Germany for €29.99.
