Xiaomi launches new affordable 4K smart security camera with 9x hybrid zoom

Xiaomi has introduced yet another affordable security camera in China, the Smart Camera 4 Zoom Edition. It will soon enter the crowdfunding phase through the company's Youpin platform with a price tag of CNY 399, which is about $55.5.

Compared to the regular Smart Camera 4, the Zoom Edition features two cameras. One is an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, while the other is a 5 MP telephoto. Xiaomi says that this setup allows the security camera to offer 4K captures with 3x optical zoom and 9x hybrid zoom.

The company further highlights that the Smart Camera 4 Zoom Edition offers a 360° horizontal viewing angle and 180° vertical viewing angle. With the Mijia 1T chip, the security camera is also said to provide advanced protection from tampering, and the dual-band WiFi 6 support promises a stable and smooth wireless connection.

For clear captures at night, there are 10 infrared fill lights, which are said to extend the night vision range to 10 meters. Xiaomi also says that the ISP is capable of restoring details of the videos in challenging lighting conditions.

There are multiple smart tracking and identification features as well. To be specific, Xiaomi notes that the Smart Camera 4 Zoom Edition can identify and track people and pets. It also comes with a calling system, allowing two-way voice calls through the security camera.

Users can restrict the range of the smart camera through the virtual fence feature for privacy, and the built-in security chip is said to offer financial-grade transmission protection. Among the other highlights is a hidden Type-C port for a clean installation and a microSD card slot with support for up to a 256 GB card (SanDisk microSDXC UHS-I curr. $24.99 on Amazon).

Availability-wise, the crowdfunding phase will start in China on August 20, 2025, and Xiaomi has yet to reveal when this security camera will be available in the global market. Check the pictures attached below to learn more about the Smart Camera 4 Zoom Edition.
