Xiaomi 12T series arrives with flagship hardware, 1220p displays and high-resolution OIS cameras

Xiaomi has revealed the Xiaomi 12T series, consisting of the Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro. Both equipped with tempting hardware for smartphone fans, the Xiaomi 12T Pro is more geared toward those who want a flagship smartphone without paying the current going rate for flagship smartphones. The Xiaomi 12T series is orderable from today with pre-order bonus, including a free Redmi Pad.

Xiaomi has released the Xiaomi 12T series, directly replacing last year's Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro. As expected, the Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro share identical designs and displays but diverge in other areas. For reference, both models measure 163.1 x 75.9 x 8.6 mm. However, the Xiaomi 12T weighs 202 g, 3 g lighter than the Xiaomi 12T Pro. Also, both feature Corning Gorilla Glass 5 fronts and anti-glare glass back panels that come in black, blue and silver colour options.

As Xiaomi's specification sheets below highlight, the Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro rely on MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipsets, respectively. Another difference is their primary cameras, which are both Samsung ISOCELL sensors. While the Xiaomi 12T utilises the ISOCELL HM6, a 108 MP sensor, the Xiaomi 12T Pro has the ISOCELL HP1, a 200 MP camera last seen in the Edge 30 Ultra. Incidentally, both cameras support OIS and are complemented by 8 MP ultra-wide-angle, 2 MP macro and 20 MP front-facing cameras.

Additionally, the Xiaomi 12T series feature 5,000 mAh batteries that they can recharge at 120 W via Xiaomi HyperCharge. Unfortunately, neither support wireless charging; Xiaomi includes a 120 W charger in the box though, unlike some of its competitors. Separately, Xiaomi equips even the regular Xiaomi 12T with a 120 Hz AMOLED display that operates at 2,712 x 1,220 pixels with a 446 PPI.

The Xiaomi 12T series is orderable from today in the Eurozone, although neither smartphone will be available generally until October 13. According to the company, Xiaomi 12T Pro pre-orders will come with a complimentary Redmi Pad until October 18. Please note that you must also activate your Xiaomi 12T Pro before November 30. Moreover, Xiaomi promises to offer a free display replacement within the first six months of purchase, as well as three months of YouTube Premium. Xiaomi has priced the Xiaomi 12T series as follows in most of the Eurozone, although other markets should receive 128 GB of storage and 12 GB of RAM variants of the Xiaomi 12T Pro:

  • Xiaomi 12T (8 GB of RAM/128 GB of storage) - €599.90
  • Xiaomi 12T (8 GB of RAM/256 GB of storage) - €649.90
  • Xiaomi 12T Pro (8 GB of RAM/256 GB of storage) - €799.90
