Not everyone has a large garden. But is it worth buying a robot lawnmower even if you only have a few dozen or hundred square meters? In principle, yes, if you keep a few things in mind when making a purchase.

Robot lawnmowers without a boundary wire are particularly advantageous in large gardens. Firstly, they eliminate the laborious task of having to set up a boundary wire, which can easily amount to several meters in large areas. Secondly, they take care of the time-consuming task of mowing of the lawn.

But is a robotic lawnmower also worthwhile for small areas? After all, not everyone has a large garden. In principle, robotic lawnmowers make work easier on small lawns, even if the time savings are naturally less. Even with just a few square meters, the effort involved in getting the lawn mower out, pushing it around, and cleaning and storing it again is still considerable.

If you're looking for a robotic lawnmower for small gardens, however, there are a few things you should consider when buying. Firstly, it's advisable to choose a relatively inexpensive model without compromising on technical features. A small battery is sufficient, which saves costs. Secondly, a compact model is advisable, especially for gardens with narrow passages and lots of corners. Large models designed for a thousand or more square meters often cannot cope with this.
