The Toshiba Satellite P775-S7215 is a great multimedia laptop with a lot of connectivity options, like WiDi 2.0 and WiMAX. Even its inclusion of Blu-ray will delight video enthusiast. It would have been nice, however, if Toshiba had included a bigger battery with the laptop. It may not be able to overthrow the HP dv7-6143cl as Editors' Choice, but if you're looking for a laptop with Blu-ray and you're not a huge gamer, then the P775-S 7215 can provide.

The Satellite P775 is nice enough to look at if you favour boy-racer kit, and puts in a reasonable performance too. It's just not particularly exciting and - compared to the similarly specced yet faster Samsung RF711 - overpriced.

Hybrid Satellite. Two hard disks, a quad core without throttling and gaming graphics. Will the low contrast panel and ergonomic data let the hopes of multimedia fade?

The 17.3-inch Toshiba Satellite P770 certainly won't win the 'most fashionable laptop' award, but you may still be able to impress other geeks with its decent performance and ability to handle gaming. Our configuration of the 17.3-inch Toshiba Satellite P770, the P770-109, is about as attractive as a bag of coal, but it offers decent all-round performance, and can handle a spot of gaming too.

The Toshiba Satellite P775-S7320 looks like a sweet deal. For less than a grand you get a fast Intel quad-core processor, lots of RAM, a large hard drive, a Blu-ray player and HDMI out, and a big 17-inch screen. As long as your performance needs don't go far beyond basic productivity tasks, the Toshiba Satellite P775-S7320 is a decent big-screen laptop.

The Toshiba Satellite P775-S7320 is worth considering if you're in the market for a big screen laptop with Core i7 power and a Blu-ray player. Granted, the 17.3-inch display is nice, but it would be even nicer if it could display full-blown HD content at 1080p. Despite its less than stellar Photoshop score it has more than enough power to make short work of your productivity and multimedia workload, and a relatively light chassis makes it a bit more portable than most desktop replacements. That said, the P775-S7320 can't match the gaming prowess of our current Editors' Choice, the HP Pavilion dv7-6143cl, which offers a discrete graphics card and a whopping nine-hour battery life.

Toshiba's reworking of their $1000 priced Satellite P775 does a better job of balancing out the 17-inch laptops features. While it does drop the Blu-ray drive and quad core processor in favor of a dual core, the addition of a dedicated NVIDIA graphics processor boosts the overall capabilities of what the laptop can be used for.

The Toshiba Satellite P755D is, first and foremost, a notebook for the budget consumer market. It's not necessarily meant to be a particularly exciting piece of hardware; it's meant to fill a niche, offer value to specific end users, and basically to just be an inexpensive computer that can handle most tasks and watch a movie once in a while. Taken on those terms, the P755D is successful.

The Toshiba Satellite P775D-S7144 has plenty to offer for casual users seeking a desktop replacement with a large display. In addition to its array of ports, including USB 3.0, its AMD Radeon HD 6620G discrete GPU makes for a surprisingly solid gaming experience. If you're willing to spend an extra 50 bucks, however, you're better off with the Acer Aspire Timeline X 5830TG-6614, which outpaced the P775D in every benchmark test and also offers superior battery performance. Because of its affordable price tag and strong graphics processor, however, the P775D is still worth considering—just be sure to stay close to a power outlet.

Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
Intel HD Graphics 3000: Integrated graphics card in the Intel Sandy Bridge processors (Core ix-2xxx). The HD 3000 is the faster (internally GT2 called) version with 12 Execution Units (EUs).
Intel HD Graphics (Sandy Bridge): Processor graphics card which is integrated in the Sandy Bridge Pentium and Celeron processors. Similar to the desktop HD Graphics 2000 and not related to the old Arrandale processor graphics with the same name.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M:
Mid-range graphics card based on the GT 435M chip (GF108) with higher clock rates and DDR3 support.
AMD Radeon HD 6620G: Integrated processor graphics card (in the A-Series of Llano APUs) without dedicated graphics memory.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
2630QM: Fast Quad-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.
2670QM: Fast Quad-core processor clocked at 2.2-3.1 GHz based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.
Intel Core i5:
2410M:
Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.3 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.6-2.9 GHz) and the GPU at 650 (1200 MHz Turbo).
2430M: Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.4 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.7-3 GHz) and the GPU at 650 (1200 MHz Turbo).
AMD A-Series:
A8-3520M:
Llano quad-core APU clocked at 1.6-2.5 GHz (Turbo Core) featuring an integrated Radeon 6620G (400 cores, 400MHz) graphics card.

3 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
3.115 kg:
A laptop with this weight is comparatively heavy and less designed for mobility than for use at the desk. Therefore, the devices tend to shine less with battery life than with a large screen and higher performance.
69.27%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
