The Xiaomi Mi 6 is issued with its official update to Android Pie
The Xiaomi Mi 6 is now over 2 years old; nevertheless, its maker has been working on an update to Android Pie for this former flagship. This project is now complete, and has resulted in an OS called MIUI 10.4.1.0. Those who still have the Mi 6 can download it from Xiaomi's official global ROM repository.
Xiaomi has released its fully stable version of Android Pie for the Mi 6 smartphone. This device was the OEM's flagship in 2017, and yet has had access to a beta of the same up-to-date OS for the last 3 months. This community-aided development has led to the roll-out of MIUI 10.4.1.0.
This iteration of MIUI - Xiaomi's custom skin for Android - is available on the company's new resource on which new updates for all devices worldwide are posted. v10.4.1.0 is 1.6GB in size, and can be installed via recovery, fastboot or via the About Phone>System update menu in the phone's Settings.
MIUI 10.4.1.0 is said not to differ hugely from the preceding software version (based on Android 8.1). On the other hand, it does contain a major OS upgrade. In addition, judging by other Xiaomi phones with similar updates, the Mi 6 is now more likely to be able to use features such as button-free UI navigation and improved app-opening times.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
