The Motorola Edge appears on Geekbench with the Snapdragon 765G SoC and 6GB of RAM
There are some indications that Motorola is gearing up to follow the premium and premium-midrange smartphone trends closely in 2020. Not only is a true flagship-grade mobile device from this brand slated to launch on April 22 of this year, but it may come with a slightly more affordable sibling with a second sought-after processor.
Further evidence of this less expensive "Edge" may have leaked out recently. A device under this name has arrived on the Geekbench 5 database. It appears to have the code-name racer and to have processor identifiers that match those of the Snapdragon 765G.
This 'Motorola Edge' is also listed as running Android 10 (which may transpire as a nearly-stock experience on this phone) and having 6GB of RAM. However, it has scraped barely respectable scores that are nowhere near some other phones with its apparent SoC.
Nevertheless, it may still take on actual and potential competitors in its space, such as the Vivo Z6 5G, OPPO Reno3 Pro 5G and LG "Velvet". Saying that, its success may depend heavily on its launch price and other specs, something that could also be said of its possible flagship Edge+ counterpart.
