Teclast T40S arrives as new budget tablet with 2K IPS display
Teclast is now selling the T40S, having presented the tablet at the start of the month. Like many Teclast tablets, the T40S combines a high-resolution display with an entry-level chipset. Specifically, Teclast has equipped the tablet with a MediaTek MT8183, a 12 nm and 8-core chipset that it complements with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
Additionally, the Teclast T40S features an IPS display that measures 10.4-inches across and resolves at 2,000 x 1,200 pixels with a 60 Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, it appears that Teclast has not Widevine L1-certified the T40S. As such, the tablet is unlikely to be capable of 1080p streaming from services like Netflix. Elsewhere, the 475 g tablet has a 6,000 mAh battery, plus 5 MP front-facing and 13 MP rear-facing cameras.
Currently, the Teclast T40S is orderable on AliExpress for US$172.29, a price that also includes a power adapter, a USB cable and a SIM tool. Also, the company sells the tablet on Amazon in certain countries, including Germany and the UK. For reference, the Android 12 tablet is available for £129.99 with a £40 voucher applied in the UK and €149.99 in Germany.
