The Sony WF-C710N are the latest budget earbuds from Sony, succeeding the WF-C700N released nearly two years ago. The new pair of earbuds have a new design and bring a handful of upgrades for the same price tag as the previous generation.

Sony has announced the WF-C710N earbuds as the successor to its affordable pair of earbuds, the WF-C700N released back in 2023. The new earbuds have a new design, longer playback time, and a handful of other upgrades.

Starting with the appearance, the Sony WF-C710N is still compact but it now has an indentation where the physical button used to be on its predecessor. The reason for that design change is because Sony has opted for touch controls instead of physical ones. There are some other noticeable differences too such as the mesh which has been redesigned.

With respect to features, the Sony WF-C710N now has dual microphones on each earbud for better noise cancellation. It also now boasts in-ear detection — pausing when you take them out of your ears and resuming playback when you put them back in. With the touch control, users can pause/play playback, adjust the volume, skip tracks, activate the voice assistant, or even quickly launch services such as Spotify Tap.

The new earbuds are still rated IPX4 for water resistance and have support for Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, Bluetooth Multipoint, and single earbud use. They are also certified for 360 Reality Audio with support for the 360 Spatial Sound Personalizer app and the Sound Connect app, the latter which lets users switch presets or customize their own EQ presets.

The Sony WF-C710N now has a battery life of up to 8.5 hours with noise cancellation turned on and up to 12 hours with noise cancellation turned off. The total battery life goes up to 30 hours with the case which charges via USB-C.

Available in Black, Pink, White, and a see-through Glass Blue, the Sony WF-C710N earbuds have a price tag of $119.99 and are available to pre-order now with shipping expected to begin on March 31. The WF-700N are still available from Sony for $99.99 or you can grab them on Amazon for $98.00.
