The Galaxy A13 5G has often been touted as a kind of advance preview of Samsung's mid-range Android line-up for 2022. Now, it has finally been unleashed and will be available in the United States soon. It offers a 50MP main camera, a 90Hz display and a 3.5MM jack for under US$300.

Samsung has been said to unleash an affordable-grade hero in the form of the Galaxy A13 5G for quite some time now. Its new official announcement do indeed confirm some of the better indications from these leaks, although some compromises have been made in order to fit it into its traditional tier at the end of 2021.

To this end, this A13 5G does indeed have a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor for its up-to-date connectivity. Samsung does not mention how much RAM the SoC has to work with, although given its (slightly disappointing) 64GB of expandable storage, 4GB is a safe bet.

The Android 11-powered A13 also has an increasingly trendy 50MP main camera; however, it is still saddled with 2MP macro and depth cameras on the back of the phone. On that note, the phone has a design inspired by some 2021 phones higher up the Galaxy A ladder, despite its lowly product name.

Similarly, Samsung has specified a 90Hz refresh rate for its latest sort-of mid-ranger - however, it is found in an LCD 6.5-inch display that is HD+ to boot.

Those who would still find this acceptable can find the Galaxy A13 5G on samsung.com or via AT&T from December 3, 2021, with units sold through T-Mobile to follow in January 2022. And the price?...US$249.99.
