Samsung reveals details of the Galaxy F55 5G with leather back, 120 Hz AMOLED display and 5 years of updates
The Galaxy F55 5G was supposed to be officially unveiled today, but Samsung has now postponed the launch event to May 27 at short notice. Details on price and availability are still pending, but the company has already published the official product page, confirming all specs.
No surprises are in store here, as the Galaxy F55 5G is merely a new variant of the Galaxy C55. The device differs significantly from the Galaxy A55 5G, as the Galaxy F55 has a leather back, while the frame is slightly rounded.
The smartphone has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 and a frame rate of 120 Hz as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, a 4 nm chip from 2022 that has four ARM Cortex-A710 performance cores with clock frequencies of up to 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores. It also has 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash storage. The 5,000 mAh battery can be charged via USB-C with up to 45 watts.
The fingerprint sensor is concealed under the display. A special feature among Samsung's mid-range smartphones is the high-resolution 50 MP selfie camera, while a 50 MP main camera, a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2 MP sensor are all found on the back. The F55 5G comes with Android 14; Samsung guarantees four major operating system updates and five years of security patches.
