The full-sized laptop will reportedly sport two GPUs and will be available in mid-August

Samsung is the next PC manufacturer to introduce an AMD Llano-based full-sized portable computer. Dubbed 305V5A, this mainstream model is expected to make its European debut in mid-August of this year and will reportedly be targeted towards home users, who are enthused about gaming and multimedia.

A number of sources indicate that Samsung’s latest Series 3 notebook will be built-around a Llano AMD A-3410MX Quad-Core accelerated processing unit clocked at 1.6GHz (can be increased up to 2.3GHz via TurboCore Technology). This entry level chip offers 64-bit support and comes with an integrated AMD Radeon HD 6520G graphics controller (shared video memory).

The unit has a 15.6-inch widescreen display and will ship with a second GPU (in dual-GPU configuration) in form of an AMD Radeon HD 6470M (DirectX 11, Shader 5.0). This Seymore XT video card features 1GB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM and operates at 750MHz. Unfortunately, there is still no information about storage space and internal RAM.

Apparently, the 305V5A will pack an optical drive, a multi-in-1 memory card reader slot and a built-in web camera for video conferencing. Reportedly, the user replaceable battery should deliver about four hours of runtime on a single charge.

As already mentioned, this Samsung Series 3 portable computer will be available to customers for purchase next month and will supposedly have a starting price of 549.
