Samsung reportedly plans to debut new USB-C chargers with Galaxy S24 series
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 devices aren’t expected to come with chargers in the box, but the company will reportedly release new charging adapters with the smartphones.
Ronald Quandt, WinFuture journalist, reported that Samsung is working on two new chargers. Among them, one of the charging adapters will be called Samsung Charger Duo 50W, featuring two USB-C ports for fast charging two devices. The second one is expected to be an updated version of the 45W charger that the company currently offers.
This report has basically confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy S24 smartphones will have the same charging speeds as their 2023 predecessors. For context, the S23 Ultra and Plus were capable of charging at 45W, while the base model Galaxy S23 was capped at 25W.
Regarding the model numbers, Ronald Quandt says that the Samsung Charger Duo 50W will go as EP-T5020, and the new 45W unit will be EP-T4511 (EP-T4510 with USB PD 3.0 curr. $35.49 on Amazon). There’s no clear information on what upgrade these new chargers will offer. But the 45W charger, in particular, may come with a smaller form factor. Hopefully, there will be improvements in terms of pricing and performance as well.
