In what may well be a u-turn, Samsung has started releasing One UI 2.0 to the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. The Android 10 update may be the last OS that the two devices receive, but it is better than having to wait another month or two, right?

Contrary to reports yesterday, Samsung has started rolling out One UI 2.0 to the Galaxy S9 series. The update has gone live in at least Germany and the US for the time being, with other regions likely following in the next few days. The update not only brings Android 10 to the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, but also the January 2020 security patch.

The update, which Samsung is issuing over the air (OTA), does not update all pre-installed apps, though. As a screenshot below of the changelog notes, apps like Calculator, Samsung Internet, Samsung Health and Samsung Notes must be updated individually once your device has finished upgraded to One UI 2.0.

Oddly, the Samsung Members app still states that the update is due in February or March depending on the region in which you are based, even if the update has already gone live. Please note that the update is anywhere between 1.76 GB and 1.99 GB.
