It has been reported that Xiaomi is working on two new 5G smartphones that will soon be released as the Redmi Note 10 and Redmi Note 10 Pro. The two devices will apparently feature processors from MediaTek’s Dimensity 800 series and should eventually find their way onto global markets, including China and India.

A well-known tipster has come to the conclusion that two new smartphones from Xiaomi that have been appearing in tech-related certifications in China will soon become the Redmi Note 10 and Redmi Note 10 Pro. Xiaomishka believes the 5G-capable devices will come with the MediaTek Dimensity 800 for the Redmi Note 10 and a possible Dimensity 800+ for the Redmi Note 10 Pro. The same report states that a Dimensity 800+ chip will have a higher core clock of 2.6 GHz compared to the regular Dimensity 800 (up to 2 GHz).

The two Xiaomi smartphones in development have the model numbers M2004J7AC and M2004J7BC, with the former possibly being the Redmi Note 10 and the latter the Redmi Note 10 Pro. This would mean the Redmi Note 10 would come with support for 22.5 W fast charging with the Pro variant likely supporting 33 W fast charging, according to a recent leak.

The tipster argues that these two smartphones, which would be the first 5G-capable Redmi Note devices, are coming hot on the heels of the Redmi Note 9 for a number of reasons. Redmi boss Lu Weibing has stated that the Note 9 is not going to be available on the Chinese market as the company wants to target 5G smartphone development. Xiaomishka reminds readers that Redmi has previously skipped a “generation” before, with the Redmi Note 6 skipping the domestic market.

Also, there has already been news about a smartphone known as the Redmi 10X, so the Xiaomi subsidiary might want to keep with the numbering system and just go straight to the Redmi Note 10 and Note 10 Pro next. The leaker expects both 5G smartphones will become available globally, but the Indian market will only get the Pro model. An announcement in regard to these new Xiaomi 5G smartphones is expected to take place in May.
