RedMagic 10S Pro series launches with built-in Windows PC game emulator
RedMagic has launched the 10S Pro series in China. One of the major differences between the new gaming phone lineup and the non-S series is the SoC. The newer devices feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version, which is essentially an overclocked version of the regular SoC.
This overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite has already set a high record on the AnTuTu benchmark, which also means that the new RedMagic 10S Pro series is capable of delivering better gaming performance than the non-S lineup. Speaking of which, the latest phones come with a built-in Windows PC game emulator.
The company claims that the new gaming phones can offer playable frame rates while emulating old AAA games. RedMagic also notes that the Windows game emulator can run Steam and Epic Games launchers, making it comparable to what Xiaomi offers with its WinPlay.
Besides that, the RedMagic 10S Pro series comes with a 144 Hz display that features slim bezels and no holes. This panel is said to have a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, a screen-to-body ratio of 95.3%, and a touch response rate of 2,500 Hz. As for the under-display camera, it's said to be powered by an AI-powered algorithm for clear captures.
On the back, the RedMagic 10S Pro series phones have a dual 50 MP camera setup. Other highlights include a built-in active cooler, 520 Hz shoulder buttons, LPDDR5T RAM, and an in-house Core R3 Pro chip for enhanced gaming performance.
As for what sets the 10S Pro and Pro+ apart, the former features a 7,050 mAh battery with support for 80 W fast charging, while the latter has a 7,500 mAh battery with 120 W charging support (200 W Ugreen Nexode 25K power bank curr. $99.99 on Amazon). The non-Plus variant starts at CNY 4,999, about $694, while the Plus starts at CNY 5,999, around $833. RedMagic has yet to announce details about global pricing and availability.
