On the datashett the RedMagic 10S Pro boasts impressive specs and offers a strong overall concept with exceptional aesthetics. In everyday use, however, a few weaknesses can quickly dampen the enjoyment.

The RedMagic 10S Pro is an improved version of the RedMagic 10 Pro and offers, among other things, a faster Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version, modern UFS 4.1 storage, LPDDR5T RAM and USB 3.2 (Gen 2). Prices start at $699 for the version with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage and go up to $999 for the top model with 24 GB RAM and 1 TB storage. The device features a high-quality bar design in three new colour variants, has narrow display bezels and flush-integrated cameras under the glass surface, but is only IP54 certified and therefore neither dustproof nor waterproof.

For gamers, there are two freely assignable sensor buttons and an optional fan, which, however, has only a minor cooling effect and is quite loud at up to 44 dB(A). The device features Wi-Fi 7, 5G, an IR blaster and an optical fingerprint sensor, but does not support eSIM.

The device runs on Android 15 and RedMagicOS 10.5, with a five-year update guarantee in the EU and UK. In other regions, it will be shorter. However, at the time of testing, the security updates were still at the level of 1 May 2025. Sustainability information is missing, and although the battery is replaceable according to the EU energy label, it cannot be replaced by the user.

The front camera is hidden under the display and provides an uninterrupted view, but only moderate image quality with low detail. The main camera offers nominally high-resolution sensors, but in practice only achieves mid-range performance, especially when zooming. Video recordings are possible at up to 8K (30 FPS).

The 6.85-inch AMOLED display operates at a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a sampling rate of 960 Hz, offering high resolution, good calibration and high brightness, without reaching the peak values of the competition. The PWM dimming at 2,083 Hz at low brightness is considered comparatively easy on the eyes.

Overall, the RedMagic 10S Pro (buy here) presents itself as a powerful gaming smartphone with a responsive display, special controls and uncompromising full screen without a display notch. However, it lacks everyday convenience features such as wireless charging, eSIM support or a higher IP certification, the update policy leaves room for improvement, and the cameras only offer average results.
