Sony is marking the 30th anniversary of PlayStation's 1995 North American and European debut with a roster of nostalgic merchandise led by "PlayStation: First 30 Years," a 400‑page Read‑Only Memory photography book available for pre‑order (standard £95; deluxe boxed edition £245, limited to 1,994 copies) and due to ship worldwide in spring 2026.

September 29, 2025, marks three decades since PlayStation launched in North America and Europe alongside other regions outside Japan. Celebrating the console’s North American and European debut, Sony is rolling out a slate of nostalgic merchandise that pays tribute to the first 30 years of PlayStation.

Leading the charge is Sony’s “PlayStation: First 30 Years”, a lavish 400-page hardback photography book that promises a “400-page visual journey through PlayStation history,” according to the official PlayStation blog.

The book has been crafted in collaboration with acclaimed publisher Read-Only Memory, known for in-depth tomes on everything from Sega hardware to Zelda lore. The upcoming volume is said to reveal never-before-seen prototypes, concept art, and behind-the-scenes tidbits of the brand’s evolution from chunky gray PS1 to the current-generation sleek PS5.

The photography book is printed on matte art stock for a premium collector’s feel and comes in two versions. The standard version carries a £95 price tag, while the deluxe version, complete with a presentation box, exclusive prints, and limited to 1,994 copies, is priced at £245.

Pre-orders for the PlayStation’s 30th anniversary photography book are now live at Read-Only Memory’s online store, with worldwide shipping slated for spring 2026. Sony describes it as “sure to become a coveted collector's item.”

Alongside the art book, Sony has teamed up with Reebok to drop a trio of region-specific sneakers that pay tribute to the PlayStation’s 1994–1995 launch markets. Drawing from 90’s Reebok icons, the lineup features the InstaPump Fury 94 for Japan, the Pump Omni Zone II for the U.S., and the Workout Plus for the UK.

Reebok’s PlayStation anniversary lineup will feature subtle PlayStation logos, textured gray scale accents, controller motifs, and more adorning the side panels and outsole of the shoe collection.

However, the exact pricing for PlayStation’s 30th anniversary sneaker collection remains under wraps. The sneaker collection is expected to launch in October and will also come in unique limited edition packaging, which mirrors the console’s original launch design.

This collection joins Sony’s broader 30th anniversary PS5 lineup, which includes limited-edition consoles and  DualSense controllers in retro gray tones.
