Orange Pi AIpro brings Huawei’s Ascend AI technology
Jointly built with Huawei, Orange Pi AIpro has entered its pre-sale phase. It brings Huawei’s Ascend AI technology and delivers 8/20 TOPS of computing power. But it’s not just the AI tech that makes the SBC powerful.
The Orange Pi AIpro packs a 4-core 64-bit processor backed by dedicated AI and graphics processors. It has support for dual 4K output and can accommodate eMMC modules featuring up to 256 GB of storage. As for the memory, the SBC is available with 8 GB and 16 GB of LPDDR4X RAM.
In addition, the AIpro development board has a versatile set of interfaces. That includes a GPIO header, HDMI ports, an M.2 slot with support for NVMe 2280 SSD (Crucial P3 4 TB curr. US$199.95 on Amazon), USB Type-C and Type-A ports, and a TF slot.
Other than that, the Orange Pi AIpro comes with support for openEuler and Ubuntu operating systems. It also meets most AI algorithm prototype verification and reasoning app development requirements.
Regarding pricing, the Orange Pi AIpro with 16 GB of RAM is CNY1149 (~US$162), while the variant with 8 GB of RAM is going for CNY899 (~US$125). But note that the board is currently in the pre-order phase, with the shipping timeline set for early January of next year.
