OnePlus 12 teardown video showcases huge vapor cooling chamber
The latest flagship device from OnePlus didn’t need to wait long to get a full teardown treatment. YouTube channel WekiHome did a complete disassembly of the OnePlus 12 just a day after it launched in China. This teardown has showcased all the key components of the device.
Right after the team removed the back panel from the OnePlus 12, we got a proper look at Sony’s 50 MP Lytia 808 sensor. The removal of the rear glass also exposed the 48 MP ultrawide and 64 MP cameras inside. Also, it revealed the wireless charging pad, the phone’s motherboard with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the NFC antenna, and other key components.
But the main highlight of this teardown is the large vapor cooling chamber of the OnePlus 12. It seems like the brand didn’t want to make the same mistake as Apple. For those wondering, the Cupertino giant comprised the thermal system of the iPhone 15 (128 GB unlocked renewed curr. $775.99 on Amazon) to make it gain a lighter weight, something that increases the chances of extreme throttling under heavy load.
Nonetheless, the large vapor cooling chamber is likely one of the contributing factors behind the OnePlus 12 achieving the highest score in the AnTuTu benchmark. For those unaware, it achieved an overall score of 2,333,033 in AnTuTu, beating the actively cooled RedMagic 9 Pro+ by 144,402 points.
