The upcoming second-gen OPPO Pad is painted as capable of a high-end experience ahead of the Android tablet's imminent launch. In letting some more specs slip ahead of this event, the OEM has also all but confirmed others that may help underpin its current premium-tier hype. Meanwhile, a famous leaker claims to be able to test these claims with their own pre-launch unit.

With less than 1 day to go until its official reveal, OPPO has raised a lot of hype for its second-gen Pad already. Some final touches added to the slate's new bookings page reveal some crucial details ahead of the March 21, 2023 event.

They include the confirmation of a distinctive 7:5 aspect-ratio for the Pad 2's 144Hz 2.8K display, rated for Dolby Vision and a ΔE rating of 2 or less for color accuracy. These specs render it capable of taking the iPad Pro on in terms of vibrancy and quality - according to a new hands-on Digital Chat Station leak, at least.

Despite prior rumors of a Qualcomm platform, the Pad 2 is now officially a MediaTek Dimensity 9000-powered tablet with a 9,510mAh battery and 67W fast charging. Accordingly, these newly official specs confirm outright that this device is effectively identical to the OnePlus Pad, down to the model number: OPD2201.

OPPO's latest teasers even hint at the same Omnibearing Sound Field technology as the other take on the same Pad, with Dolby Atmos to boot. Then again, the former is slated to come in gold or silver finishes, with Halo Green remaining exclusive to its ostensible global variant.

The OPPO Pad 2 is slated to hit the Chinese market from its imminent debut on that market, whereas OnePlus Pad pre-orders will not start until April 2023.
