NiPoGi AK1 Plus debuts with new Intel N97 processor
Intel launched the N97 processor back in January of this year. But until now, we haven’t seen any mini PC featuring the CPU. We’ve only spotted the CPU on the AAEON UP 7000, which is an SBC. Well, it seems that it won’t be long before mini PCs featuring the processor make their entry on the market, as NiPoGi has just debuted the AK1 Plus.
While the NiPoGi AK1 Plus may look similar to the Kamrui AK1 Plus, it’s more capable in terms of performance. For context, Intel N95, the CPU found inside the Kamrui mini PC, scores 7343 in the PassMark benchmarking tool. On the other hand, Intel N97 gets 7874 in the same tool.
Besides a better CPU, the NiPoGi AK1 Plus also brings upgrades in other aspects. For example, while the Kamrui mini PC features Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi 5, the latest model from NiPoGi comes with Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6. This should make the new mini PC offer better wireless connectivity.
Other highlights of the AK1 Plus from NiPoGi include 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, up to 2 TB of storage, and a versatile selection of ports. Also, as the unit features the same design as the mini PC from Kamrui, it has a detachable base. This base can hold a 2.5-inch HDD/SSD.
When it comes to the pricing, the NiPoGi AK1 Plus with the Intel N97 CPU, 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of SSD has a listing price of EUR299.99. That converts to around US$327.
In other news related to the Intel N97 CPU, AceMagic S1 will soon get refreshed with the new processor. Kamrui may also update its AK1 Plus (N95 model curr. US$135.95 on Amazon) with the new CPU.
