Turtle Beach has opened preorders for its new Airlite Fit Wired Gaming Headset designed for the Nintendo Switch 2. This is the latest version of the budget-focused gaming headset the brand re-released earlier this year. It is priced at just $27.99, making it a strong contender in the budget category.
The Airlite headset was originally released by PDP, which Turtle Beach acquired in 2024. Back in April, Turtle Beach reintroduced the headset for the original Switch in multiple color options, including a neon red and blue colorway. This new Switch 2 edition adds official Nintendo Switch 2 branding and a new Charcoal Black finish that offers a more subdued alternative to the vibrant color options of the previous model.
Aside from the updated aesthetics, the headset is identical to the previous version. It remains lightweight at 228 grams and features the same breathable jersey-knit ear cushions and padded headband for comfort during extended gaming sessions. It is also compatible with previous Switch consoles, including the Switch Lite and Switch OLED, and since it sports the standard 3.5 mm connection, it should work with multiple other devices as well.
For sound quality, the headset features high-quality 40mm speakers, which provide immersive gaming audio with crisp highs and deep lows, according to Turtle Beach. While it doesn't support active noise cancellation, which is unsurprising for headsets in this price range, the brand claims the Airlite Fit can effectively block out external noise with its specially designed cushions. Plus, it also has a sound-isolating microphone with flip-to-mute functionality.
The Airlite Fit Wired Gaming Headset for Nintendo Switch 2 is available for pre-order through Amazon and the Turtle Beach store for $27.99, with shipping expected to start on September 3, 2025. If you prefer the design of the original Switch, the previous Airlite Fit headset is also available at Amazon at the same $27.99 price.
