The Garmin Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches are receiving a new beta update, version 15.07. The update arrives a couple of weeks after the last release, beta version 15.05, which fixed a bug that was causing faster than expected battery drain.
The release notes for beta version 15.07 state that there is a glance for users to track changes in their health data and monitor their general wellbeing. This is the new Health Status feature, which arrived with the Venu 4 smartwatch (curr. $549.99 at Amazon). Another additional feature is support for cycling VO2 max on certain watch faces, though these are not listed.
After installing beta version 15.07, users of the Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches will be able to use the down key to dismiss training alerts, hold the lap key to switch between sports during a multisport activity, and turn off the device without a passcode. On top of this, there is a wide range of bug fixes tackling issues linked to incoming calls, the evening report and the strength activity. Garmin also indicates that it has reduced the click noise played at the start of a voice note. You can find a screenshot of the complete change log below.
Garmin beta version 15.07 for the Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches can be downloaded when you go to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates. As is typical with the testing updates, the ECG app is disabled; it will be re-enabled when a stable version of the software is released.
