A new Casio G-Shock GMW-B5000D watch is rumored to be on the way. This would be the fifth version in this range, which started with the GMW-B5000D-1 (black frame) in 2018 (curr. $550 at Amazon Marketplace). There were then two releases in 2024, the GMW-B5000D-2 (metallic blue frame) and the GMW-B5000D-3 (green frame).
Most recently, Casio launched the G-Shock GMW-B5000D-1C, which has a red line between the black frame and the brick pattern. According to a report by the blog Great G-Shock World, a new similar model with an orange line is on the way. Rumors suggest that it could be called an ‘Orange Line’ model. This possible naming is based on a theory linked to recent models like the DW-5600RL-1, which feature a red line like the one seen on the frame of the GMW-B5000D-1C. It has been suggested that the letters ‘RL’ in the model name stand for Red Line, and therefore a similar orange variant would be an Orange Line watch.
While Casio has yet to officially announce this G-Shock GMW-B5000D Orange Line watch, it is expected to have similar features to other models in the series. It should have a stainless steel bezel and casing, measuring 49.3 x 43.2 x 13 mm (~1.9 x 1.7 x 0.5 inches) and a stainless steel strap. It is likely to be a radio-controlled (Multiband 6) watch with Bluetooth connectivity and support for multiple world time zones.
The report indicates that the Casio G-Shock GMW-B5000D Orange Line watch will be released at some point in 2026, though an exact date has yet to be provided. It is also unclear which markets the product is coming to, and how much it could cost. As a guide, the GMWB5000D-1C retails for $550/£489/€549.
