The Casio AE-1600H-1AV and AE-1600H-8BV watches are now available in Europe. These products appeared in the US earlier this year, where they are known as the AE1600H-1AV and AE1600H-8BV. The watches have since appeared at the brand’s stores in countries including the Netherlands, France and Italy.
The AE-1600H is a new series that Casio describes as “practical” and “robust”. The AE-1600H-1AV has a typical display, with dark figures on a light background, surrounded by a black resin casing with a matching strap. Meanwhile, the AE-1600H-8BV has the inverse display, light figures on a dark background, with a gray resin casing.
Notable features include an LED backlight triggered by a centrally positioned button, which some users may find easier to use than the traditional side button. The watch is water resistant to 10m, and Casio estimates that the watch will run for up to ten years on a single CR2032 battery. Other tools include the ability to display dual time zones, a 1/100th-second stopwatch, a countdown timer and five alarms. Plus, the calendar is fully automatic to the year 2099, and the watch is said to remain accurate to within 30 seconds each month.
The Casio AE-1600H-1AV and AE-1600H-8BV watches will retail in Europe for €39.90. However, the release date has yet to be officially announced. The products are already available to pre-order in the US, where they will launch on February 1st.
