Motorola has confirmed that a new generation of Razr smartphones is to become the star of its next major mobile product event. It is thought to introduce a successor to the horizontally-folding Razr 40 Ultra, the only Android smartphone with the OEM's groundbreaking 165Hz flexible pOLED display, not to mention its first-gen vanilla counterpart.
The devices is now officially scheduled to be introduced to China by Motorola parent Lenovo on June 25, 2024 as the Razr 50 and 50 Ultra. However, they are tipped to debut internationally the following month, under either the same names or as the Razr and Razr+ 2024 for the US market.
By any name, they are now expected to launch with the exact same advanced main display as their 2023 predecessors. However, the Razr 50 is also slated for an upgrade to Motorola's 3.6 inch cover display, while the 50 Ultra gets an even bigger one.
The upcoming next-gen Razr flagship is also thought to step up to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, a (slightly) bigger battery and unprecedented amounts of RAM and internal storage for its line. Meanwhile, the 8GB/256GB Razr+ 2023 is at a newly reduced price of $649.99 on Amazon.
