The new Motorola Moto G66j 5G appears to be based on the Moto G56 5G, but with some minor changes in terms of specifications. Motorola continues its typical Moto G design language with a square, flush camera module and a vibrant back panel with a texture similar to leather.
The chassis is certified according to IP68 and IP69, making the phone water-resistant. The display is protected from scratches by Gorilla Glass 7i, and Motorola states that the Android handset can also withstand drops. Although Motorola opted for an LCD instead of an OLED panel, the 6.7-inch display still offers a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The 32MP f/2.2 selfie camera has been put in a punch-hole cutout, while the main camera module features a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera based on the Sony LYT-600 sensor, along with an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera.
With that being said, the Moto G66j 5G can only record videos in 1080p. It’s powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7060 processor with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD. The battery has a capacity of 5,200mAh and can be charged via USB-C at up to 30 watts. Wi-Fi 5, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB-C, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a built-in FM radio are available as well. Motorola’s new budget phone further weighs around 7 oz and is 0.33 inches thick.
