Marshall has launched its first TWS earbuds joining a highly competitive field of listening options. The new Marshall Mode II true wireless earbuds of course carry the famous Marshall name to help them stand out from the crowd, but they also come with a very strong list of features.

Marshall is a brand that has long been synonymous with rock music with innumerable bands featuring Marshall stacks in the background on stage or in music clips. The company has been in the consumer audio market for a few years now but this is the first time it has ventured into the hugely popular TWS earbud segment. The first true wireless earbuds from the company seem to tick almost all the right boxes when it comes to both looks and features.

The Marshall Mode II earbuds deliver 5 hours of playback from a single charge and up to 25 hours in total thanks to a case that offers up to 4 recharges when on the go -- the case itself also supports wireless charging. The large 6 mm drivers deliver a frequency response of between 20 Hz and 20 kHz and are tuned to deliver a “thunderous” sound, according to the company. The buds are also IPX4 rated for water resistance meaning that you will be able to work out with them in as well.

The Marshall Mode II earbuds also incorporate a range of touch functions including a transparency mode, the ability to start and end conversations via either bud, control music playback and activate voice assistants including Siri or Google Assistant. They ship with four different ear tips including small, medium, large and extra-large to help tailor an ideal fit. These should also provide good passive noise cancellation but will not compensate for the lack of active noise-cancellation which is the most obvious omission.

The Marshall Mode II earbuds can be pre-ordered now for US$179 and will ship from 18 March.
