Lenovo has updated the ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 and ThinkPad P16s Gen 4 after introducing AMD Ryzen Pro-powered models in April. To recap, those variants feature up to the Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 370, although they can also be picked up with the lesser Ryzen AI 7 Pro 350 (curr. $1,699 on Amazon). Now, both laptops have gained an 'i' in their names to signify a switch from AMD to Intel processors.
Specifically, Lenovo equips the ThinkPad P14s i Gen 6 and ThinkPad P16s i Gen 4 with up to the Core Ultra 9 285H, a 16-core processor with a 5.4 GHz peak clock speed and an Arc Graphics 140T iGPU from Intel's Arrow Lake-H family. Moreover, both machines can be configured with up to 96 GB of DDR5-6400 RAM, 2 TB of PCIe Gen 5 storage and an Nvidia RTX Pro 1000 Blackwell GPU sporting 8 GB of VRAM. On top of that, the two laptops feature 57 Wh or 75 Wh batteries, both with support for 100 W Type-C charging.
As always, Lenovo offers support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu Linux, Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro. Furthermore, Lenovo equips its new 14.5-inch and 16-inch ThinkPads with the following ports:
- 1x 3.5 mm headphone/microphone combo jack
- 1x HDMI 2.1 (TMDS)
- 1x Nano SIM card slot
- 1x RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet
- 1x Smart Card Reader
- 2x Thunderbolt 4
- 2x USB Type-A (5 Gbps) (1x Always On)
Like their AMD counterparts, Lenovo offers multiple display configurations starting at 1,920 x 1,200 IPS panels with and without touchscreens. Unfortunately, the non-touch variants top out at 45% NTSC colour space coverage. By contrast, their touchscreen counterparts deliver 100% sRGB colour space coverage with 25% higher peak brightness too at 500 nits. Meanwhile, 2.5K and 3K options are available for the ThinkPad P14s i Gen 6 with a 3.8K and 400 nit OLED panel reserved for the ThinkPad P16s i Gen 4.
The ThinkPad P14s i Gen 6 and ThinkPad P16s i Gen 4 will be available later this month in the US and the Eurozone. Currently, Lenovo has only confirmed starting prices, which will see the ThinkPad P14s i Gen 6 costing at least $1,819 in the US and €1,569 in the Eurozone. In comparison, the ThinkPad P16s i Gen 4 will start at $40 in the US and €30 more in the Eurozone.
