The Anycube Kobra 3 Max Combo is now open for preorder. The 3D printer is currently selling for US$599, with the price later set to increase to US$699 successively. From 21 February onwards, the product will be available at its official launch price US$999. The printer supports up to eight filaments, enabling multiple colours and materials to be used in a printing run. Because the Kobra 3 Max only has one print head, the filament in use needs to be cut during filament changes. The two Ace Pro storage boxes can each hold four filament spools and are equipped with an automatic drying function to help materials last longer without quality loss. They can also identify two spools of the same material and colour, allowing users to print very large objects without having to change filament mid-print.
With a print volume of 420 x 450 x 500 mm (approx. 16.5 x 17.7 x 19.7 in), the printer is capable of handling large models. The recommended printing speed is 300 mm/s, but the Kobra 3 Max can go as fast as 600 mm/s if achieving optimal quality is less of a concern. The device supports 0.4 mm filaments by default, and the nozzle and heated bed temperatures can reach 300°C (572°F) and 90°C (194°F), respectively. Since the product is an open 3D printer, users should definitely avoid strong wind to prevent any possible negative impact on the print result. The Y- and Z-axes are each controlled using two motors. The Kobra 3 Max also features a 4.3-inch touchscreen and can communicate over Wi-Fi with an app. Optionally, a camera can be installed to detect filament stripping.
