Huawei Maimang 4 comes equipped with the Snapdragon 616 SoC
The Huawei Maimang 4 smartphone is equipped with a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 616 SoC with integrated Adreno 405 graphics. Originally, this particular smartphone was spotted at TENAA in late July with a Snapdragon 615 SoC under the name Huawei G8 (RIO AL00).
The main difference between the Snapdragon 615 and Snapdragon 616 is the clock rate of four of the eight ARM Cortex-A53 processors. These are slightly faster on the 616 compared to the 615 (1.2 GHz vs. 1.0 GHz). Furthermore, the 616 integrates the X5 LTE Global Modem with WCDMA 3C-HSDPA support compared to just DC-HSPA+ support on the Snapdragon 615. Specifications are otherwise the same including support for 3 Ampere charging through Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. The maximum clock rates for the last four cores of both models are identical at 1.7 GHz.
Core specifications for the Maimang 4 include:
- Display: 5.5-inch 1080p
- CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 S0C
- RAM: 2 GB RAM
- Storage: 16 GB eMMC
- Cameras: 13 MP rear, 5 MP front
- Battery: 3000 mAh
- Dimensions and weight: 7.5 mm thin, 167 g
The smartphone also features an integrated fingerprint scanner. The 2 GB model retails for 2100 Yuan (~310 Euros), while the higher-end 3 GB RAM, 32 GB eMMC variant retails for 2500 Yuan (~360 Euros).
