From laptops and desktop computers to e-bikes, the Hoto PixelDrive is aimed specifically at hobbyists looking for a screwdriver with some unusual features. First and foremost, PixelDrive offers a dot matrix display that shows the remaining battery charge and the set torque, which can be adjusted from 0.5 to 6 Nm.
There are two buttons on the handle, depending on whether you want to screw clockwise or counterclockwise. If the respective button is pressed lightly, the screwdriver rotates at 80 revolutions per minute; if pressed more firmly, the speed increases to 200 rpm, giving users full control without having to take their finger off the button. A 360-degree LED ring makes it easier to work in low light conditions. At 2,000 mAh, the battery of the new PixelDrive is one-third larger than that of its predecessor.
A full charge via USB-C takes three hours, but Hoto doesn't provide any information on battery life. A small, unique feature is the cylinder that securely stores the screwdriver, which can be disassembled into three parts to access the 30 included bits. Weighing just 317 grams, the screwdriver is comparatively heavy.
