Hori has unveiled the Street Fighter 6 version of its Nolva all-button arcade controller (SPF-049) for PlayStation 4 and 5 game consoles, and Windows gaming PCs. The Nolva comes skinned with the image and name of ten fighters - Cammy, Chun-Li, E. Honda, Gouki, Jamie, Luke, Manon, Marisa, Rashid, and Zangief. Each is available for 19,980 yen (~$139) from the Hori Store in Japan.
The controller uses only buttons rather than a joystick to play Street Fighter. It has eight action buttons, four direction buttons, and three custom buttons. The custom buttons are hot-swappable. The unit also has a touch pad and touch button compatible with use only on PlayStations. The main buttons can be reprogrammed from their default functions to other single functions, either directly from the controller or using the Hori Device Manager app.
The controller uses a wired USB-C connection and can only be used with Windows 10 and 11 computers in XInput mode. The unit comes with a 3 m (9.8 ft.) USB-C to USB-C cable and can also be connected to PS4 consoles using the optional SPF-015 DualSense USB-A to USB-C cable.
The unit measures 30 x 21 x 3 cm (11.8 x 8.3 x 1.2 in.) and weighs 710 g (25 oz.). A slip-resistant base helps keep the controller in place during heated fights, according to Hori. A 3.5 mm headphone jack is included for silent play.
Readers who prefer a joystick can purchase this Hori Fighting Stick α (SF 6 Edition) on Amazon.
