The GameSir X5s is a Bluetooth telescopic controller with support for Android and iOS. Announced in late August, the controller is also compatible with the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Now, the manufacturer has released an update that lets users wake up the Switch 2 with the controller.
The one-click wake-up function requires users to update the GameSir X5s controller (available on Amazon for $49.99) using the GameSir app, which is available on the Google Play Store for Android and on the App Store for iPhones and iPads. Users are required to update the controller to firmware version 1.13.
After the update is completed, follow the steps below to set up the one-click wake-up function:
- Detach the Joy-Cons from the Switch 2
- Select Controller on the home screen or under the Settings app.
- Select Change Grip Order
- Press and hold the GameSir (Home) button and the Y button on the GameSir X5s. The LED around the GameSir button should flash red and then turn to a static blue color if the connection is successful.
- Tap on the -/+ button on the screen of the Switch 2, then tap on any of the Joy-Con 2 icons on the screen. The selected Joy-Con 2 should beep, confirming that the one-click wake-up function has been successfully set up.
- Reattach the Joy-Cons to the Switch 2.
- Once completed, users will be able to wake up the Switch 2 by long-pressing the GameSir button. The LED will blink slowly in red and then turn static blue. Once this happens, you can proceed to use the controller.
The one-click wake-up function should always work unless the controller is unpaired from the Switch 2 or paired to another device, which will then require you to set it up again.
