Forza Horizon 6 is no longer just a center of leaks. The game has been officially confirmed on the official @forzahorizonofficial Instagram account, where the latest post shows the Horizon 6 logo with Mt. Fuji in the background. The adverts, which appear to have gone live earlier than intended, set the location in Japan and confirm a 2026 release window. The short clip also prompts users to wishlist the title on Xbox and PC platforms.
The confirmation follows months of leaks and reports that pointed to Japan as the likely setting. Earlier this year, an Australian car importer shared - and later deleted - images of a Playground Games developer scanning a Japanese kei car, which was an early sign that the team was building a Japanese vehicle lineup. Around the same time, Windows Central reported on a reveal tied to Tokyo Game Show, based on internal documentation. All these leaks are now backed by today’s verified post, which provide the first official details.
Forza fans have long requested Japan as a setting for Horizon, thanks to its dense urban roads, coastal highways, and winding mountain passes (infamous for drifting). However, beyond the setting and release window, Playground Games has not shared gameplay information or details on how the map will be structured.
Xbox is scheduled to appear at Tokyo Game Show on September 25, where we can expect a full trailer to make an appearance. Until then, the focus will stay on what new features Horizon 6 might carry over from previous entries.
