Alienware has announced the latest iteration of its popular Aurora gaming desktop. The redesigned model has been launched to coincide with the 25th Anniversary of the Alienware brand.

Alienware has had a busy 2021 with the launch of its all-new x15 and x17 gaming laptops hitting the market with 11th gen Intel silicon and Nvidia 30-series graphics on board. The launch of those models also saw Alienware partner with CHERRY MX to offer variants with a custom mechanical keyboard option. The brand has now taken the wraps off its completely redesigned Aurora gaming desktop to celebrate the brand’s 25th Anniversary.

The new Alienware Aurora has been designed with thermal efficiency in mind which results in both better sustained performance as well as a quieter system. While Dell says it hasn’t significantly expanded the footprint of the mid-size desktop, its new design is certainly striking -- particularly the new standard glass panel on the side. While having a good-looking rig is important, equally important is having the best possible thermal design, and this is arguably where the biggest changes have been made.

The new open-air design approach is said to increase the internal chassis volume by a considerable 50 percent. The company says this helps the Aurora performs up to 16 percent quieter at idle, up to 9 percent quieter during CPU intensive tasks and up to 15 percent quieter during overclocking. Graphics performance is also improved by 5 percent thanks to the new internal design that also includes up to four 120 mm fans and liquid cooling options.

More will be revealed about the new Alienware Aurora, including specifications and pricing, later this fall when it gets closer to launch.
