DJI has now released the Neo (curr. $199 on Amazon), which is only its second consumer drone release. While the company is expected to introduce the Air 3S this year as well, it also has a new action camera waiting in the wings. For context, GoPro has already shown its hand with the Hero and Hero 13 Black, which arrived earlier this week.
Officially, DJI has not commented on launching a new action camera. However, leaker @Quadro_News has returned with a detailed look at the Osmo Action 5 Pro, which will directly replace last year's Osmo Action 4. According to the leaker, the Osmo Action 5 Pro will centre on a 40 MP and 1/1.3-inch camera. Although the latter detail had already been revealed, DJI's plans to offer a four-fold resolution uplift were previously known.
Added to that, @Quadro_News asserts that DJI's next action camera has a 155° field of view (FOV), batteries that should last up to four hours between charges and the ability to record videos in up to 4K/120 FPS. Moreover, the leaker believes that the Osmo Action 5 Pro will ship with three stereo microphones, 47 GB of built-in storage that can be expanded by up to 1 TB, as well as support for Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. On top of that, @Quadro_News asserts that DJI will sell the camera for between €450-€490 as an Adventure Combo with various accessories. Currently, the Osmo Action 5 Pro is expected to debut around September 12 with the following software features:
- 360° HorizonSteady
- Live Stream
- OsmoAudio
- SuperNight Slow-Motion Modes
- Subject Centering & Tracking
- Voice Control
